Androgyny Through Fashion
by Leandra Hausle
A photo series meant to demonstrate my perseptions of different sides of the androgyny spectrum.

With this project I wanted to create a cohesive idea of my ideals of androgynous feminine and masculine looks through tools like fashion and makeup. I wanted to create a strong contrast so with the outfits I styled, I tried to keep to the most basic ideas of contrast, black and white.  While the contrast is important for my series I also wanted to show that even with their differences they are still tied together. I used the make-up and acessories to tie them together.
With these first sets of images I wanted to cement the ideas of feminine and masculine. The way I edited the images is meant to push the idea that these proposed concepts are opposites ultimately even if the share similarities.
Continuing on, I then wanted to place my two proposed ideals together to emphasize that there differences end up circling back around into their similarities.
